[Today the journal opens up on a rather water damaged looking apartment on the top floor of the Ground Building. Yes, the apartment has been trying to fix itself, but each night she tends to destroy it once more. Thankfully with the warmer weather the mixed breed will be returning to sleeping at the bottom of the lake once more, but thinking of her move she's gotten something else on her mind.

She opens her large, fanged mouth and speaks in a slightly gravely voice.]

Talking book. I have heard tell that in this land is the ocean. This is true, is it not? In which direction is this ocean?

[It's always been a dream of her's to see an ocean. Her extra long, scaled fingers grip the book tightly just thinking about it. She had put off searching for it until she felt she had secured herself a safe territory, but she's learned that Luceti probably won't let that ever happen.]

Is it as any ocean you have visited in your world? Or is it unique as are many items in this world? What of fish? Large monsters of the sea? Does there exist a place where one can stand and not see the end of the water?

[Tell her stories of oceans, Luceti. She's planning a trip and is full of excitement.]

[Ocean stories it is! Actually, she doesn't have as many travel stories as she'd like, but the bookworm and incognito soldier of water definitely knows about the ocean.]

The ocean is to the northeast. If you were to go out there, you could find vast areas where you see only water. It's very beautiful, especially with the sun shining down on the surface.

I have never seen the sun set on an ocean before. I have on a small lake and the colors were as you say beautiful. [To see something like that on the larger scale of the ocean? It would be like magic.]

[A guy who loves the water is definitely someone she can relate to.]

Is that what you want, to see it? Because you haven't before?

I'm sorry if that's a strange question; I just sort of feel like I understand.

Yes, I wish to see the ocean and hunt for the fish larger than myself I have heard tales of. [As Xzana doesn't just love the water; she lives in it most of her life.]

In my home we have an ocean, but it is far from my birth. I had not yet traveled long enough to discover it before I awakened in this land. I wish to see this place where one could look and not see land.

I don't know what sort of fishing the oceans here have, but I know people have sailed ships on it before. You might be able to go out with one of them, sometime.

I do not need a ship. I shall go out on my own. [She's not waiting for some human to slow her down to explore the ocean!]

[No one could be slowed down by the goddess of water, in the water.]

Eh? How will you go, then? [Ami took it to mean either swimming, or already having a boat available.]

I shall go into the water on my own. [Wait. Humans have a word for this. What is it--] I shall, swim? [Questioning as she's not sure she's using the correct word.]

[Yes, swim! Ami's voice brightens with interest.]

I think it would be nice to swim out that far.

Yes. I wish to swim out so far that I am unable to see the land. There is where I wish to live.

To stay, away from everyone else? [It sounds lonely to her. The water is her very element, flowing through her very body, her greatest defense and protection - but to go out where others couldn't follow her sounds like being alone.]

I do not think that the metal men would be able to find me if I were to live there. To live on my own so far from everyone may confuse them.

Do you mean the droids?

I think they could find you there just as well. [She's pretty sure, given their precision, the droids have Luceti's prisoners tracked. And she's pretty sure they could handle a water kidnapping.]

You think or do you know? I have not been able to hide or stop them near this village. I shall need to try another tactic.

I'm not sure of it; I don't think it's been tried before.

But, I think you should at least have people to help you.

Then I shall be the one who attempts it.

[And people? Help her? If she hasn't been able to fend off the droids before what were people suppose to do?] I have been attacked by the met- the droids alone in my lake home and when I have made a home in your village. Being around people made no difference.

They can be defeated. [She's just going to leave that statement there. It wasn't always true, but more recently they've found weaknesses, more recently just once or twice, people have been saved from the droids - though sometimes at the cost of their rescuers. It's still far from safe.]

Tell me how! [Leaving off there is not good enough for her. She must know the secret to defeating these metal men.]

It's not a trick; but since that time, they can be overpowered. [She's not even entirely sure of the how and why herself - although she'd been one of the ones to invade the experiment area and suspects some of the information gained there helped.]

Overpowered? How many did it take to overpower the metal men? [Seeing how she wasn't able to do so and she was in her full dragon form at the time.]

I know friends have helped each other before; but I don't know how many. [It would probably depend on circumstances, and the people involved. Also not the best thing to discuss explicitly over possibly monitored means.]

This is useful information. I thank you. [So not OVERLY useful, but to know there was a chance was better than the information she had before.]

As do I. [Not meant to be said as an insult. She simply wishes Ami had more to offer so she could be better prepared.] If you find the answer to how the meta- the droids were killed, please inform me.
