[Today the journal opens up on a rather water damaged looking apartment on the top floor of the Ground Building. Yes, the apartment has been trying to fix itself, but each night she tends to destroy it once more. Thankfully with the warmer weather the mixed breed will be returning to sleeping at the bottom of the lake once more, but thinking of her move she's gotten something else on her mind.

She opens her large, fanged mouth and speaks in a slightly gravely voice.]

Talking book. I have heard tell that in this land is the ocean. This is true, is it not? In which direction is this ocean?

[It's always been a dream of her's to see an ocean. Her extra long, scaled fingers grip the book tightly just thinking about it. She had put off searching for it until she felt she had secured herself a safe territory, but she's learned that Luceti probably won't let that ever happen.]

Is it as any ocean you have visited in your world? Or is it unique as are many items in this world? What of fish? Large monsters of the sea? Does there exist a place where one can stand and not see the end of the water?

[Tell her stories of oceans, Luceti. She's planning a trip and is full of excitement.]

I shall go into the water on my own. [Wait. Humans have a word for this. What is it--] I shall, swim? [Questioning as she's not sure she's using the correct word.]

[Yes, swim! Ami's voice brightens with interest.]

I think it would be nice to swim out that far.

Yes. I wish to swim out so far that I am unable to see the land. There is where I wish to live.

To stay, away from everyone else? [It sounds lonely to her. The water is her very element, flowing through her very body, her greatest defense and protection - but to go out where others couldn't follow her sounds like being alone.]

I do not think that the metal men would be able to find me if I were to live there. To live on my own so far from everyone may confuse them.

Do you mean the droids?

I think they could find you there just as well. [She's pretty sure, given their precision, the droids have Luceti's prisoners tracked. And she's pretty sure they could handle a water kidnapping.]

You think or do you know? I have not been able to hide or stop them near this village. I shall need to try another tactic.

I'm not sure of it; I don't think it's been tried before.

But, I think you should at least have people to help you.

Then I shall be the one who attempts it.

[And people? Help her? If she hasn't been able to fend off the droids before what were people suppose to do?] I have been attacked by the met- the droids alone in my lake home and when I have made a home in your village. Being around people made no difference.

They can be defeated. [She's just going to leave that statement there. It wasn't always true, but more recently they've found weaknesses, more recently just once or twice, people have been saved from the droids - though sometimes at the cost of their rescuers. It's still far from safe.]

Tell me how! [Leaving off there is not good enough for her. She must know the secret to defeating these metal men.]

It's not a trick; but since that time, they can be overpowered. [She's not even entirely sure of the how and why herself - although she'd been one of the ones to invade the experiment area and suspects some of the information gained there helped.]

Overpowered? How many did it take to overpower the metal men? [Seeing how she wasn't able to do so and she was in her full dragon form at the time.]

I know friends have helped each other before; but I don't know how many. [It would probably depend on circumstances, and the people involved. Also not the best thing to discuss explicitly over possibly monitored means.]

This is useful information. I thank you. [So not OVERLY useful, but to know there was a chance was better than the information she had before.]

As do I. [Not meant to be said as an insult. She simply wishes Ami had more to offer so she could be better prepared.] If you find the answer to how the meta- the droids were killed, please inform me.

Of course I'll tell you. [At least, she has no problem with doing so, it's more a question of availability and information and opportunity.]

Thank you. If I find a way as well, I shall tell others. [Because she won't lie, she'll probably forget just which human told her this information. So long as she shares it with enough people it should get around at least.]

Thank you for that, too. Although it's been this long, I don't want to think it's impossible to find out more about the droids, and this place, too. But to do that, I think we all need to help each other.

If something moves and is alive I have found that there is something within a world which can destroy it. Be it another creature or a weapon. I have never heard a tale of a truly immortal creature. [Of course, she still doesn't fully comprehend that the droids are not alive.] Some are more easily destroyed than others.

[Oh, there are true immortals. But what would Mizuno Ami, the quiet doctor at the village clinic, know about that? So she says nothing about a kingdom on the moon, or a race of immortal beings.]

I agree; but I think our enemies here are more than just the droids, too.

Yes. The strange men in white they take us to. [The memory in her mind is hazy. She thinks that's what she remembers from her kidnapping.] Those too have proven dangerous.

Do you mean the Malnosso? [That must be it. Ami nods, unseen but perhaps noted in the slight pause.] I think so, too.

The creatures who brought us to this land. Yes. They must also be destroyed and we be returned to our homelands.
