[Xzana was finally convinced that the sudden and strange influx of humans was really done and began emerging from the bottom of the lake more and more. Between feeling less crowded and the heavy rain she is in a remarkably good mood.

She dances in the rain for a bit and climbs a few trees. Then finally checks out that strange book that is always following her around. She had been told it was magic, but being unable to read it's never been something she cared much about. That is until she realized it talks! Listen to all the different voices!

Huh, but then the voices pause. She gives the book a shake. Huh, how do you get this silly thing to work. She drops it on the ground and bats at it. Managing to turn the video function on by mistake. She bounces back and forth for the camera in the rain. Prodding the book now and then.]

Talk magic book! [She circles the book, waiting for it to respond.] Speak again! [She gives it a gentle shove before jumping back a bit and running from it a bit before coming back.] Are you tired, book?

[Today she is full of energy and wanting to play. She'll be in possibly the best mood if anyone feels like braving the heavy rain and spot her playing with the book near the lake.]

Maybe you can have Keimi tailor something. She's a mermaid and she deals with the Luceti wings a lot, so maybe she can make something.

Mah, I know my clothes change into the feathers though, but I'm not sure that would be the same for you? [Holds up an arm and switches it into a phoenix wing in demonstration. Purple shirt still there, but where it's a wing, the fabric seamlessly switches from purple to flaming blue like the rest of his flames.]

Even with your fire magic they never get damaged!? How is it weaved!? Is there magic weaved into it!?

Ah... It's part of my transformation, not the clothes. I can do this with anything I'm wearing, but it's comfier when they're loose. And I can't wear shoes, has to be sandals or it feels weird and makes talons impossible.

[Switches fully into a phoenix, all the clothes "disappear" and then back into a human again.]

[Whoa. Yeah, she's going to need a minute because that was amazing.]

It's nothing much. [... Marco isn't exactly modest but fff. Enjoy it while it lasts.] But let's just say, I understand why you wouldn't want to wear a lot of straps, eh?

[Small grin. He loves his devil fruit, and he's one of the most talented zoans in the world with it, but still...]

It's kind of a curse actually, but I make it work for me. [Besides, he says it so deviously, how can it be a bad thing?]

A curse? Oh no, magic for humans is a gift from the spirits of the earth and sky of long past.

[Keeps up that small grin.] Somewhere along the line those spirits got demonized then, eh.

No, the spirits of the earth are pure and cannot be demonized.

Maybe it's different in other worlds.

Magic was a gift given out of pureness by the people of old. If it has been demonized it is by those who would misuse that gift. To simply have it is not a demon.

It is something everyone from my home knows. That it is the will of the people that magic becomes harmful, not the gift itself.

Aye. It's not having strength, it's how you use it.

It's not exactly a personal concern of mine, [Like he'd have a problem with being evil =\] but I've started to run into a lot more people who are bothered by it. It's strange and familiar all at once, eh.

I wonder if they are bothered only that they do not have it themselves.

I've wondered that too, but I'm not always sure. I think it's more a fear, eh? Simply having more power won't make that fear go away.

Hm, maybe, but I find usually they are jealous. [Or so she thinks.]

What so ever the reason may be. You should be proud to have the use of magic.

I don't know about "proud," but I wouldn't trade my phoenix side for nearly anything, eh?

When I was younger I at times wished to not be so closely connected to the water. Now I know how foolish that was.
