[When Xzana awoke the first thing she realized was that she was NOT in her lake as she should be. The new clothes didn't phase her as she was too busy trying to figure out what happened to all the water, then there was the discomfort to her back. Reaching back she found something was attached there! What was going on!?]

Who did this!? What sorcery is this!? Come out!

[Scared and confused Xzana does what she thinks is the smart choice and pulls. Wanting the offending thing OFF of her. At the sound of the snap the comes and the pain that quickly follows tell her right away what a bad idea it was. She snaps her head back in a roar.]

RWWRRRRRAAAARRRRH!

[The half breed dragon stumbles towards town. Her small Luceti broken wing dangling at an odd angle between her large pair. She growls under her breath as she searches for water, hoping to keep any creature who may find her an easy meal right now away, as she blindly stumbles her way around the edge of town.]

(OOC: Warning, as she's injured her flight or fight is on high alert. She WILL attack any character that just rushes up at her. Approaching her slowly will be fine, just know she'll bite if someone gets in her personal space too quickly. Also don't be afraid to break time and space in this post!)

The broken wing on your back says otherwise-

[But, she won't press. Cannot press. This winged woman is new to the village and disoriented for it. Unsettled and possibly afraid. Best to leave it alone until she is more settled.]

[Not a terribly long walk if one was well. With a wing broken such as this woman's? It would feel far longer. Adele keeps her hands up as she edges around, not getting any closer than she was already.]

Towards the buildings? [She bristles slightly. Taking a step back. Was this human taking her back to her clan to get jumped? One human she could probably handle, even dizzy, but a group of them? Not in this form and she knows how dangerous it can be to transform while injured.]

Yes. It is the closest large source of water that I know of. The houses and apartments have running water but I do not think that is what you are asking for, yes?

[She stops, waits for the woman to make up her mind.]

...it will not be crowded at this time of day. Most are home for the evening, or in the tavern.

There are many people there, then? [She turns her head towards the east, but keeps an eye on the woman in front of her.]

Several hundred, I believe. We're a peaceful village. We do not attack newcomers- as we've all been pulled from our own lives, our own worlds to this place and arrived in state similar to your own.

Hundreds. [Way too many. She'd have no chance. Then again, why would she be honest about that if she wanted her to be lured there?

She takes another look towards the east, her stomach churning with pain. An hour walk. Even if she flew, which she's not sure she can right now, it would take a bit. Even now she could feel herself growing steadily weaker.

But to walk blindly into a human village while injured? This is not an easy decision for her to make.]

...would salt water suffice? There is still the teleporter to the beach- to the ocean. The building that houses it is secluded and entirely empty. The shore is equally devoid of villagers.

[She doesn't understand the need for it- what it means to this woman. It's importance. Only that it IS important. That alone is more than enough for her to attempt to make accommodations.]

No! No one with magic! [That's even worse right now then a group of regular humans!]

[Forgive Adele taking a few steps back. Maybe more than a few.] It isn't magic. It isn't even a person- it's a device. It operates on it's own, no magic, and no one else.

Teleportation is a spell. Those with magic cast it.

That I know, my housemate is one that can cast such a spell. But this is no person that uses magic. It is a platform. You step on it, and it takes you to the beach. There is no magic involved in this particular teleporter.

Teleportation is only done with magic. There is no other way. [Xzana starts to look to the east again. She even takes a step to move that way, but just with that one step she stumbles.

Damn it!]

This fountain... is close? And the village friendly towards dragons? [She knows she probably can't trust an answer, but she still just doesn't really want to go.]

[Adele takes a half step forward, wanting to help. She catches herself all the same- better to not. Especially since all she's done is agitate her.]

The fountain is close and yes, the village is friendly towards dragons. You have my word. I'll not allow harm to come to you in the village.

Alright. Lead me, but know that if this a trap that I shall be sure to kill you first. [That's a good way to make friends, right?]

Then it is a good thing death is cheap here. I'll only be gone a week.

[She sighs, pinches the bridge of her nose but...leads on all the same. This woman, this dragon is injured and requires care. She can understand the frustration, and even the violence. Somewhat.]

Death isn't ever cheap. [At first Xzana straightens and walks with her head held high, but it doesn't take long for her head to drop and for her to start stumbling. Damn, she had broken her wing once when she was young and under the protection of her mother. She didn't remember it hurting quite like this.]

Anywhere else? No. Here our deaths are somewhat inconvenient to our minders. They'd rather we didn't. So they revive us should we die. The process takes the better part of the week and when we return usually we've lost something. A sense. A memory- we're not quite as we once were. And that is how we live for four months. Then they will remove the penalty.

[Adele slows to look back over her shoulder to the dragon.]

...do you need help? Walking, I mean.

[Most of Adele's talk goes over Xzana's head. This woman just has to be crazy. A random spot that will teleport without magic and now death not being well, death. Maybe it was a mistake to follow her.]

Death is forever. There is no awakening from it.

[She straightens as Adele addresses her condition.] I am fine. [Trying to look strong. One should never look weak when about to face a group of humans. Although the slight reddening of her cheeks give some of her fatigue away.]

As I said. Anywhere else that would be the case. It is in my world. You die- you are done. There is no returning. Here however, many of the rules are different. It is disconcerting to me still, and I've been here half a year.

[Pride. Something she can understand well enough- all it does is spur Adele to quicken their pace. See her patient- because she was as such now, to the fountain all the sooner.]

It is not much farther.

No. There can be no returning from death. The body dies and breaks down and the spirit flees.

[Xzana nods, trying to keep up with the quickened pace. Although as they get going she starts breathing just a bit harder. Weaving more and more once again. She clutches at her stomach as it rolls around in agony.]

[Adele lets the argument drop there. It makes sense for what she says to be true- but not much in this place makes sense. For now she sets it aside in favor of getting to the fountain.

They come up on the plaza soon enough. As Adele had said, there were not many villagers about- and the fountain itself was clear of any loiterers.]

Here we are.

[Xzana had braced herself as they moved deeper and deeper into the village. Trying to hold her arms towards her face with her claws out. Only she was rarely able to hold them up that high for very long.

Although a brief smile lights up on her haggard face as she looks into the water.] Thank you human. You have been true to your word.

[It's a bit smaller than what she was hoping for, but in an emergency like this it will do. She nearly collapses into it as she steps over the edge and into the water. She grabs on to keep herself from falling face first.]

I am a LeBlanc. We always keep our word.

[Not that her name means much of anything, here, and not that it will mean anything to the dragon, but. It's habitual. Adele keeps a few feet from the fountain, eyes still locked on that broken and oddly angled wing. She can't help but imagine how much pain this woman's in, and still wants to help treat it. Somehow.]

While you rest- may I examine the broken wing on your back? If it is set it will take care of a great deal of your discomfort.

[She considers this for a moment. While still injured she feels much more safe and secure being in water. Now she had a good weapon supply if she needed it.

The water alone would eventually heal the wing. At least, she assumed it would. Perhaps this wing wouldn't heal like the rest of her body does in water and this human has done nothing to harm her yet.]

Alright, LeBlanc. You may look at the wing, but tell me what you're going to do before you do it. [It's not a good thing to surprise a dragon who's already on edge after all.]

[No equipment, only her earlier studies of avian anatomy and what one of the other physicians have sorted out by way of their connections to the human body for any sort of reference, and her hands.

This could go very poorly if she is not careful. For a moment she considers Nala- but remembers easily enough this woman's earlier reaction to the idea of a human with magic. Best to do without.]

I will.

[She's still slow to approach, and settles on the edge of the fountain behind the winged woman. Sitting half in the water to get a better look at the break.]

...I would like to touch the wing- to feel out where the break is at it's worst.
