[When Xzana awoke the first thing she realized was that she was NOT in her lake as she should be. The new clothes didn't phase her as she was too busy trying to figure out what happened to all the water, then there was the discomfort to her back. Reaching back she found something was attached there! What was going on!?]

Who did this!? What sorcery is this!? Come out!

[Scared and confused Xzana does what she thinks is the smart choice and pulls. Wanting the offending thing OFF of her. At the sound of the snap the comes and the pain that quickly follows tell her right away what a bad idea it was. She snaps her head back in a roar.]

RWWRRRRRAAAARRRRH!

[The half breed dragon stumbles towards town. Her small Luceti broken wing dangling at an odd angle between her large pair. She growls under her breath as she searches for water, hoping to keep any creature who may find her an easy meal right now away, as she blindly stumbles her way around the edge of town.]

(OOC: Warning, as she's injured her flight or fight is on high alert. She WILL attack any character that just rushes up at her. Approaching her slowly will be fine, just know she'll bite if someone gets in her personal space too quickly. Also don't be afraid to break time and space in this post!)

It's not a problem. Be careful with your wings, okay? If you lose them, you'll die. [ Ikki doesn't go away, but goes to sit at the edge of the river, crosslegged. ] It's one of the rules here that people know.

[Xzana keeps going into the water until she's fully submerged. She brings her head back up after a few moments. She's sure to keep her wing under water as she listens to Ikki. It was going to be a long time before it was healed, but the water was already helping relieve some of her pain.]

Being unable to fly is a disadvantage, but many creatures can survive without wings.

[breezing]

You can't fly with the little wings, though. See? [ Ikki turned around, giving Xzana a clear view of her own fluffy, pale yellow wings. ] They're too small, I guess. I dunno why, but they're your life here - didn't it hurt when you broke your little one?

[ Ikki turns back around. ] Anyway, I don't need wings to fly! I'm an airbender. [ thoughtfully ] But a glider would be super helpful, 'cept I don't have one here.

[elongatedsmile]

[Xzana ducks her head closer to the water.] It hurt a little... [Okay, it hurt a lot. Still does.]

The village we were near. Are there a lot of magic users like you?

[breezing]

Magic? [ Ikki looks startled, and then giggles. ] It's not magic! It's bending. I can manipulate the air. That's all! There're people there who do lots more than me, and who have what they do call magic. And there're people who don't, too. I dunno! Luceti has lots and lots of types of people - that's what makes it so fun!

[elongatedsmile]

Bending. [Okay then... whatever this child wants to call it. Looks like magic to her.]

So those wings of yours. You were not born with them, such as the ones on my back?

[breezing]

Nope. I got them when I came here - that's...six days ago, now! I've been here almost a week! Everyone who comes to Luceti gets 'em.

[elongatedsmile]

So how did we come here? I do not remember running into any kind of trap and there was no one around to teleport me.

[breezing]

[ Ikki shrugs. ] No one really knows! The Malnosso - they're sort of the people who put us behind the barrier, I guess? - apparently were people who got taken a long time ago before we were taken. I don't remember anything inbetween being here and not being here, either. People're from different times and worlds, but mostly they're all super nice!

[elongatedsmile]

A barrier?

[breezing]

Yep! It keeps us in this area. It's a pretty big area, but it's still there. And your powers are cut in half, if you have any. Did you notice anything?

[elongatedsmile]

[She noticed a whole bunch of pain? Yeah, she was a little distracted.] My powers? [Now that she mentioned it she did feel a little weaker, but she had thought that was because of her injury.]

[breezing]

[ YEAH THERE IS THAT. Ikki's sticking around to be sure she's okay, really. ] Yep! Like, my airbending isn't as strong as it normally is, and anyone with powers has them weakened here.

What kind of sorcery do they use to manage that?

[breezing]

Katara said it's called "Shifting", but I don't know anything else about it.

[elongatedsmile]

Hm. Interesting, no one here has been able to stop it then?

[breezing]

Nope! Some people have been here for years. New people - like you and me, 'cept you're newer - show up in white clothes like yours and generally look confused and stuff. It's been happening a lot lately, and people told me it happens in cycles.

[elongatedsmile]

Years? Humans have been here for years and haven't found how to lower that barrier? [Years is nothing to Xzana, but she's starting to understand that a year is a long time for most humans.]

[breezing]

Yep! And people don't stay dead. [ important information. ] Anyway, do you live in the water? 'Cause I guess you don't need to get housing if you do.

[elongatedsmile]

[Wait, wait, wait, wait... wait.] I think you may be mistaken by death.

[breezing]

Nope. 'Cause people come back after one week if they die. Usually. [ Ikki pauses. ] Grandpa says it's 'cause the world knows we don't belong to it, but it takes a week for it to notice and send us back.

[elongatedsmile]

Death does not work like that. It does not care who you are or where you are. It just takes you.

[breezing]

[ Ikki...doesn't know how to convince her, since the only way to find out would be to find out, so she just shrugs. ] Well, I think it's best not to die in the first place, really.

[elongatedsmile]

Death isn't something to be feared. It's just a part of life, but I am not yet ready for it myself.

[breezing]

Yep! Me either. I'm seven, and I have lots of things I still want to do, y'know?
