[Xzana was not liking this new time period. Not from the lack of technology. In fact she liked less technology as it tended to just confuse and scare her in the end. It was from the cap on her powers. It leaves her feeling weak and worried if the droids are still in this time how much worse it will be to run into them. So once again she's trying to avoid falling into her hibernative state this winter.

So she finds herself now missing the technology. The way it kept the apartment she would claim for the winter warm so she'd stay awake. Fire is not something she had to worry about in the past. Xzana knew the basic idea of how it worked. You pile wood in a special area in the home and then... then... then she's not sure what to do next. Maybe the magic book knows!]

Humans. How do you create fire without magic? [She knows it's possible. She's seen humans do so in her own world. Oh wait! Wasn't it something about banging sticks together?]

BANG! BANG! BANG!

[Stupid fire.]

Flint's best for the job. Strike it with a rock, it'll spark. If you've got kindling, strike it close and let it catch to that.

You're supposed to be able to rub two sticks together for the friction, but I've never gotten that to work.

I do not have kin-dl-ing. [Her rough voice speaks the word slowly. One she hasn't heard before so she's careful to put the sounds together right.] I have wood. [She can follow sticks! Sticks are smaller parts of wood! So at least her banging will stop in order to start rubbing too sticks together.

Too bad most of her wood is wet anyway.]

Flint's a hard rock, and kindling is smaller pieces of wood, dry grass, things that'll catch easier. Keep it burning long enough to catch the larger pieces of wood.

Then why call it flint? It is a rock. [Humans. Always complicating things.] I do not see how these actions become fire. [Not that there's doubt that she's being told something wrong. More confusion. She knows humans can create fire. She's just only seen it with magic or lightening.]

Why do the trees in the forest not catch fire as their branches rub together?

Stone? Fire can not burn stone. [No, no! Banging these sticks together makes much more sense! So she'll keep on banging.]

I do not call on the power of fire, but water. [BANG! BANG!] In the other land the houses were warm all year. This one is cold. [Not that she feels cold in the same way as most. She knows the idea of cold as it makes her sleepy.]
