[Today the journal opens up on a rather water damaged looking apartment on the top floor of the Ground Building. Yes, the apartment has been trying to fix itself, but each night she tends to destroy it once more. Thankfully with the warmer weather the mixed breed will be returning to sleeping at the bottom of the lake once more, but thinking of her move she's gotten something else on her mind.

She opens her large, fanged mouth and speaks in a slightly gravely voice.]

Talking book. I have heard tell that in this land is the ocean. This is true, is it not? In which direction is this ocean?

[It's always been a dream of her's to see an ocean. Her extra long, scaled fingers grip the book tightly just thinking about it. She had put off searching for it until she felt she had secured herself a safe territory, but she's learned that Luceti probably won't let that ever happen.]

Is it as any ocean you have visited in your world? Or is it unique as are many items in this world? What of fish? Large monsters of the sea? Does there exist a place where one can stand and not see the end of the water?

[Tell her stories of oceans, Luceti. She's planning a trip and is full of excitement.]

[Go to the ocean? With a god? It takes her a moment to answer because she honestly can not believe what she was hearing. Then she realises what she is doing could very easily be considered rude.] Yes! [A pause as she gets her excitement under check. Lowering her tone and speed when she next speaks.] Yes, I would be most honoured to see the ocean with you. So long as it is what you wish for. [She did not want to be getting in the way of a God!]

[She'd honestly forgotten just how formal the girl could be, so it takes her just a moment to respond, as she's suppressing a laugh.]

Of course it is. Meet me at the fountain in town in an hour's time and we'll go.

[She opens her mouth to try to clarify what an hour was, but then shut it. She did not want to seem like too big a fool in front of Saori. One good thing about having nothing is you rarely ever needed anything. She was ready to leave right now.] Alright. I shall be there.

[She will just leave right now. Then she will be sure not to keep the God waiting.]

[It never occurred to her to think Xzana might know otherwise. So, she'll arrive after about forty minutes. Sorry!

Spotting her, Saori will just wave.]

Good day, Xzana.

[Xzana waves back, although it's a bit stiff and slow. She was still getting use to some of the social cues people use. Waving is one she's starting to get, but sometimes isn't sure how big or long to wave. She's seen so many different styles.]

Good day to you honourable Saori. I thank you for meeting with myself.

Oh, it's no trouble. Come along, and I'll show you a shortcut to the beach. It will cut a lot of time off the trip.

[And without preamble, she starts walking towards the barracks.]

Yes, please show me this shortcut. [She falls in a couple steps behind Soari, as she had been taught to show respectful.]

Of course.

[And...she'll lead them to the barracks...]

Alright, can you remember this building?

[She looks around. Taking more notice of the trees then the building, but she does notice it.] Yes. I can remember this building.

There is a magic gate inside that will take you to the beach.

[And with that, she opens up the door and steps inside.]

A magic gate? [She might have been nervous approaching a gate made of magic with anyone else, but she trusts Saori. So instead of being nervous she's actually a bit excited.]

What kind of magic is it? [Will it blast her off into the sky? Turn her into the wind? Teleport? Once inside she will be keeping her eyes peeled for a magic gate. Expecting to see something rather large and impressive looking.]

Teleporation. Nothing complicated.

[Saori will lead her down to the teleporter. Which is basically a large stone with a chiseled panel, and a platform.]

This is it. Now, look at what I'm doing, so you can do this yourself.

[She presses her hand onto the controls and pushes, and the panel glows.]

Easy, yes?

[She watches carefully. Excited to learn anything from a God. No matter how big or small it might be.]

Yes. It is easy. Does one need to think a command for it to work? [She had heard magic could work that way.]

No, just push this to activate it. Or push it again a second time to turn it off.

[She does that now.]

You try, Xzana.

[She approaches the controller and places a clawed hand on it. Her extra long fingers spread out over it, but pressing it is simple and they don't get in the way at all. She turns as it begins to light up.] Then one would step onto the portal. Is this correct?

[She understood how teleporting worked in theory, but best to take it slow when playing with magic.]

[Watching Xzana, she nods, smiling approvingly. Very quick, really. And astute.]

Step onto it and find out.

Yes, my lady. [Now she was a little nervous, but a God told her that it was alright. She moves onto the platform and is soon whisked away to the ocean.

Once Saori follows her through the portal, Xzana will be standing, her large mouth hanging open as she stares at the water. It was larger and more beautiful then she thought.

She won't look back at Saori, not realising she's arrived, too busying trying to take the full image in front of her in. Feeling the sea air on her skin. She will be happy to stand there for a long time unless someone snaps her out of it.]

[Saori's only a moment behind, and when she steps out onto the sand it's hard to not see Xzana standing there. The awe on the half-dragon's face is quite plain, and Saori leaves her to it, not wanting to interrupt. Standing there in the early afternoon sunlight, she looks out over the ocean as well. It's a wonderful sight, to be sure, and each time it calls to mind a particular bundle of memories that she treasures.

Whenever Xzana comes around, she'll find Saori standing a few paces away, expression distant, lost in memory.]

[Time moves much differently for dragons and Xzana would be glad to stand there all day taking the world in. It would be just a short amount of time in her mind, but she remembers she is not here on her own. That it is rude to ignore anyone, let alone a God, so after nearly an hour she moves once again.

She walks up to stand behind Saori, but it looks like the woman may be lost in her own thoughts as well. Xzana stands quiet and respectfully a short distance behind Saori. Not wishing to interrupt.]

[Time is almost meaningless for an immortal as well, the hour passing in the blink of an eye. Memories of Isora, of afternoons spent sunbathing, and an encounter with a sarcastic colleague. She's in no hurry, and she's not at all concerned with the dragon's own difficulties with mortal time.

Though, when Xzana begins to shift, she slips out of her reverie a few moments later.]

It's nice, isn't it?

[Not at all bothered that they'd just spent an hour doing...nothing.]

Yes. It is nice. Even in my mind I had not imagined it large enough. There really is a place where one can go to see only water.

[She moves up to the water's edge, but even before she takes a step fully into the water she realizes something with the damp sand. Then get confirmation as it rolls over her feet.]

There is salt in this water!

[Saori kicks off her sandals and steps out onto the sand herself, following Xzana.]

Yes, there is. Seawater is by nature salty.

[Xzana wrinkles her nose. She had smelled salt on their arrival, but had never guessed it had come from the water. When she ate large quantities of human salt she always became very sick, but she had no idea what it would do in water.

She could already tell she didn't feel the same revitalization she usually felt when she was in water, but she was far from feeling sick.] Is this where the humans retrieve their salt? I thought that it came from the ground.

Sometimes. I think mostly it comes from the ground too, but I don't know for certain.

[Shrug...but she is still watching Xzana just to be sure the young dragon was alright.]

[To say that her dreams of the ocean were crushed would be a gross overstatement, but this discovery had indeed put a bit of a damper on her excitement.

This was still different then when she ate salt by mistake. Instead of a dry pain in her insides this was just a feeling of being 'off' she wasn't sure how to feel about. She wasn't ill, but it wasn't good either.

She moves herself a little deeper into the water as she tests it. It washes gently over her ankles and she starts to note that the longer she stands in it the uneasy feeling starts to lesson, but the feeling of rejuvenation never comes.

Curious she looks out into the water; wondering what this also means for her powers. Slowly a small funnel out in the distance will form and rises up out of the water. It loops around itself, straightens out, and takes a variety of different simple shapes as she gives her powers of water manipulation a test. If Soari needed more of a hint that the sudden appearance of a tower of water was being caused by her travel partner, the water follows where the dragon's eyes move. To her relief it does not seem that the skill has been damped in any way.]
